Pigmented Lesion Removal

Pigmented lesion removal at Katy Hand and General Surgery is safe, fast, and effective. Pigmented lesions, also known as brown spots or age spots, are caused by excess melanin in the skin. Pigmented lesions are very common skin blemishes that often appear with age or too much sun exposure. Pigmented lesions can appear on all parts of the body, but are most commonly found on the face and hands. While most pigmented lesions are benign, some are melanomas. Dr. Vossoughi will first assess your skin to ensure you are cleared for treatment.

Our clinic uses advanced Astanza IPL technology to target and eliminate all layers of hyperpigmentation in the skin without harming any of the surrounding skin tissue. During treatment, our IPL system will emit light energy onto the unwanted pigment in the skin. The excess melanocyte cells absorb the light energy and break apart. After treatment, your immune system will flush away the dead skin cells and reveal clear, unblemished skin.

Our Astanza IPL technology is safe to use on all skin types and delivers exceptional results in just 1 to 2 treatments. During the healing process, some patients may experience scabbing. If this occurs, allow the scab to heal and flake off naturally for optimal results. To prevent additional brown spots from appearing, protect your skin from daily sun exposure and always apply sunscreen.
